Oil Painting Techniques

I have been painting for at least 40 years, and obviously I have picked up many skills, tips and tricks. I have been on many courses and read many books, and I will tell you something about all of them.

They often try to make the easy seem difficult.

No I don't know why. Honestly, painting is easy, my two year old granddaughter can paint. She picks the colors she loves and paints them.

Artists and teachers often try to make more of art than there is, they want you to believe that they know something you don't. That they are somehow superior to you.

Painting is a skill, just like driving a car, working a computer, and its a skill you can learn and practice. Of course some people do have a talent for it, but painting is all about painting what you see.
